Become a Certified Muslim Life Coach

In The Age of AI, The Most Valuable Resource
Is You.

Make your skill sets work for you with this structured training program designed to help you develop your natural ability to connect and help others:

Build confidence, serve your community, and create meaningful work without compromising your Islam.

The Age of AI is not a threat to your potential.

It's the reason your work matters more.

Information is no longer valuable: AI can generate it, search engines can retrieve it, and courses can package it.

But there’s one thing it cannot replace:

Your ability to understand a human being, to sit with them, connect with them, and help them see what they cannot see on their own.

And yet most people never learn how to develop that innate ability, sitting on years of experience, insight, and life lessons…

…never turning it into something meaningful.

Adwam exists to help you develop that human capital into impact you can offer the world, with holistic training, an Islamic framework, and a certification backed by 20 years of Islamic coaching & leadership.

The hadith the program takes its name from: "The most beloved deeds to Allah are Adwam (most consistent), even if they are small." What you build here is not a one-time qualification, but a practice you will carry for the rest of your life.

Who this training is for

Adwam is built for Muslims who feel called to help others grow but have been talking themselves out of starting. The specific version of that hesitation tends to look like one of these:
The helper who doubts
You have been the person people come to for advice your whole life. But translating that into something formal feels like claiming a title you have not earned yet. This training gives you the methodology to match the instinct you already have.
The professional wanting more
You are a therapist, teacher, social worker, or imam who works with people every day. You want a coaching framework that actually honors your Islamic values instead of asking you to bracket them at the door.
The aspiring practitioner
You want to build a coaching practice but have no idea where to start. You need the training, the structure, and the confidence to step into a room and know what you are doing.
The community servant
You lead a halaqa, volunteer in your masjid, or support your community informally. You want the skills to do that work with more precision, without burning yourself out, and without taking Allah out of the equation.

This training is not for everyone.

Adwam is not a quick certification to add to a bio. It asks you to do the work on yourself first, because you cannot help someone through territory you have never walked. If you are looking for a passive course to collect a credential, this is not that.

What you will be able to do when you complete Adwam

Every outcome below is something you will have already practiced before you graduate.
Coach clients through resistance, avoidance, and self-sabotage using tools rooted in how the nafs actually works.
Hold full coaching sessions with structure and confidence, from the opening question to a clear action plan.
Work with Islamic psychology frameworks that integrate Quran and Sunnah into the practical change process.
Identify what is actually going on beneath a presenting problem, not just what the client says they need.
Set up and run a coaching practice, including how to describe what you do, who you serve, and how to price it.
Coach yourself first. Apply the same tools to your own nafs so your work stays grounded and your growth stays consistent.
Navigate the boundary between coaching and therapy with clarity, and know when to refer out.
Work with the spiritual dimension of a client's life without overstepping into fatwa or therapy territory.

The Curriculum

Adwam is delivered in modules that build on each other - both in LIVE sessions and pre-recorded trainings.

You begin with yourself. You build your coach's toolkit. You practice each tool in peer-to-peer practicum. You get weekly coaching and mentorship. Then you build your coaching practice.
 01 - agent of change
How the Prophet ﷺ caused deep change in people, and how to carry that same capacity into your coaching.

Emotional intelligence through the RULER framework: how to recognize, understand, label, express, and regulate emotions in yourself and those you're guiding
How connection is built through closeness and emotional investment, and why rapport opens the only channel through which real change travels
The two ways emotions distort what your clients see (deletion and distortion) and how to help them question the story they're telling themselves
How to anchor someone in their niyyah so deeply that motivation becomes a byproduct of conviction, not a daily chase
Rutter's model of coaching: how to lead from behind so the person you're helping owns every step of their own change
By the end of this module, you will understand the mechanics behind why the Prophet ﷺ could walk into a room and shift someone's entire direction, and you will have your first practical tools to do the same.
02 - HOW TO SECURE COMMITMENT
Most coaches know what to do — the real work is learning how to make it stick. This module gives you the tools to build unshakeable commitment in yourself and in the clients you serve.

The difference between commitment and interest, and why coaching only works when clients cross from one to the other
The four hidden blocks that keep clients from following through — fear of failure, fear of success, shame, and the discomfort of the unknown — and how to hold space for each without toxic positivity
How to ask open-ended questions that open doors rather than close them, using the "how" and "what" structure that keeps clients thinking forward
The four categories of coaching questions: understanding, direction-setting, option-generating, and next-step — and when to use each one
How to use reflection as a precision tool, and how to build goals that your clients will actually pursue
By the end of this module, you will know how to move a client from "I want to change" to "I will change" — and how to stay with them through the moments when that commitment gets tested.
03 - The Mind Your Client Brings Into the Room
Before you can coach someone, you need to understand how their mind is actually working — what it's filtering out, what it's distorting, and what it's protecting. This module gives you that foundation, drawn from Shaykh Muhammad Alshareef's (rahimahullah) NLP teachings.

How the mind processes 2 million bits of information per second and filters reality through deletion, distortion, and generalization — and why your client's version of events is always a map, not the territory
The three levels where real change has to happen: academic, emotional, and physical — and why information alone almost never moves a person
The prime directives of the subconscious: how it protects repressed memories, seeks resolution, runs the body automatically, and why it will always push clients toward growth whether they want it to or not
Why the mind cannot process a negative command — and how this one insight will change how you speak to clients, structure goals, and frame every piece of feedback you give
The Hereafter Paradigm: how to bring Allah into the coaching equation so that Jannah becomes the north star that organizes everything else in a client's life
By the end of this module, you will understand what is actually happening inside a client's mind before they say a single word — and you will know how to use that understanding to build real rapport, speak in a language the subconscious accepts, and create the conditions where lasting change becomes possible.
05 - how to coach with confidence & authenticity
The tools mean nothing if the coach hasn't done their own inner work first. This module builds the internal foundation that every effective coaching relationship stands on — and draws that foundation directly from the prophetic example.

What it actually means to be a coach: a leader, a host, a facilitator, a gardener — and how the Prophet ﷺ modeled every one of these roles long before coaching had a name
Why every coach must practice humility — entering every session actively looking for what Allah has placed in this person, rather than arriving with all the answers already prepared
How envy and unchecked judgment will quietly poison the coaching space, and what it means to be a collaborative leader who genuinely wants the client to surpass you
How to build emotional safety in yourself first — because you can only hold as much space for someone else as you have cultivated within yourself, and the presence you practice in prayer is the same presence you bring into every session
Why we can never write a client off as beyond change — and why the story of Umar ibn al-Khattab (ra) is the reminder every coach needs before they assume they know what's possible for the person in front of them
By the end of this module, you will show up to every coaching session with a clean heart, a clear vision, and enough inner safety to hold space for someone else's most vulnerable moments.
06 - master Breakthrough Conversations
How to have the sessions that actually change people — not just the ones that feel good

How to identify the real problem beneath what your client presents — and why working on symptoms without reaching the root will only bring them back where they started
The OARS method for motivational interviewing — and how the Prophet ﷺ embodied this same spirit by meeting each person exactly where they were, without shame or force
How to read emotional blocks as protective mechanisms built for a reason — and why trying to bulldoze through them will backfire every time
How to hold clients accountable without triggering shame — because shame makes people hide, and hiding is the opposite of growth
How to define your niche with niyyah — so your practice is built on clarity and intention, not grasping in every direction
By the end of this module, you will know how to walk into a session ready to go beneath the surface — and how to bring your client with you without pushing, shaming, or doing the work for them.
07 - How To Grow Your Coaching Business
The step-by-step of getting clients — from your free gift to your first discovery call to your first "yes."

Why your niyyah as a coach matters more than your strategy — and how treating your practice as da'wah changes the way you show up, make offers, and build relationships
The framework for growing your audience and network built on integrity — not follower counts, viral posts, or a polished feed
The mindsets that make discovery calls feel like real conversations, and a framework for asking good questions, building trust, and inviting someone to work with you
How to shape your coaching into a named, time-bound offer that communicates a specific result — not just "sessions"
The five foundations of writing copy that connects: knowing who you're talking to, understanding where they are, building genuine desire, giving them a reason to act, and making the next step clear
By the end of this module, you will have moved from "I want clients" to knowing exactly what to do next — with a coaching offer, a way to show up for your audience, and a roadmap to grow with confidence.

SPIRITUAL
& RELATIONSHIP COACH
Razia Hamidi's coaching methodology is built on three foundations: self-awareness, confidence, and emotional safety. Her work sits at the intersection of spiritual growth and relational health, with a particular focus on how Muslims navigate both.

She has developed and refined the coaching approach that now forms the core of the Adwam framework. Alongside that, she built her own practice working with Muslims on their spiritual and marital lives.

Today, as CEO of DiscoverU, she carries forward the vision Shaykh Muhammad Alshareef (rA) built, and leads the organization's work in Muslim coaching and personal development.
SHAYKH MUHAMMAD ALSHAREEF (RA)
PIONEER & VISIONARY
Shaykh Muhammad Alshareef (rahimahullah) was the first to bring structured personal development and coaching to the Muslim world, founding DiscoverU with a singular focus: lifting Muslims in Deen, Dunya, and Dawah.

Over two decades, he trained some of the most recognized names in Islamic leadership and coaching, including Shaykh Waleed Basyouni and coach Megan Wyatt, using a framework that connected NLP and coaching principles directly to the Hereafter Paradigm.

The first on the scene, Shaykh Muhammad founded DiscoverU for the sole purpose of lifting Muslims in Deen, Dunya & Dawah.
MENAHAL BEGAWALA
LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELLOR
Menahal Begawala is a licensed mental health counsellor specializing in trauma healing and a certified practitioner of EMDR Therapy. She is also a graduate of Al-Huda Institute, which grounds her clinical work within an Islamic framework.

Her contribution to Adwam focuses on the psychological dimension of coaching: understanding what is beneath a presenting problem, identifying emotional blocks, and equipping coaches to have conversations that move people past internal conflict and into accountability.

This is critical to help others take responsibility for their progress and the key to their transformation.

Disclaimer: Adwam is not training in therapy.
MIKAEEL SMITH
IMAM & RESEARCHER OF EMOTIONAL & MORAL INTELLIGENCE OF THE PROPHET ﷺ

Research has shown enhanced emotional intelligence leads to happiness. With the ability to name your own emotions and self-regulate, you're able to empathize and earn trust in relationships.

With Shaykh Mikaeel Smith, your strengthened EQ will help understand what's not being said, so you can ask powerful strategic questions to guide others based on their emotional and subconscious needs.
MOHAMMED SHEIKH
NLP PRACTITIONER & MIND MECHANIC
Mohammed Sheikh is an NLP practitioner with a specialization in neuroscience and anxiety reduction. His work focuses on how people form beliefs, process reality, and resist change, and the specific tools that produce rapid behavioral shifts when those patterns need to break.

Inside Adwam, his training is paired directly with Shaykh Muhammad Alshareef's (rahimahullah) foundational lessons on neuroscience and coaching, bringing an Islamic framework to NLP principles that are often taught without one.
